Irish bookmaker Toals has entered a new partnership with the Irish FA which will see them become the official bookmaker for the Northern Ireland senior international football teams, as well as the Tennent’s Irish Cup and the Match Intermediate Cup.
Set up in 1932, Toals is still a family-run concern and it currently operates 50 retail betting outlets across Northern Ireland, and has established a betting presence in every country, along with an innovative telephone betting service that has proven popular with sports betting fans in Ireland.
Speaking about the deal, Gary Toal said that it fitted with the Toals brand, and that as a local business, they wanted to support football in Northern Ireland:
This partnership allows us to invest in the local game played in footballing towns across the province. As the Leading independent Bookmakers in Northern Ireland, the association with the Irish FA and Northern Ireland football will boost our profile further.”
Strong track record
The Business Development Manager at the Irish FA, Gareth Williamson, said his organisation was pleased to be linking up with a local company that had a strong track record of football investment, and that the FA was looking forward to working with the bookmaker to boost football in the region.
The Tennent’s Irish Cup is one of the oldest football club competitions in the world, and it further strengthens the portfolio of tournaments that Toals currently sponsor, including the County Antrim Shield, Steel and Sons Cup and Junior Shield. The company also sponsors the reigning Irish League Champions Crusaders FC.
