Next year will bring the much anticipated final season of the massive HBO hit show Game of Thrones.
Since the first episode aired on the 17th of April 2011, viewers have been glued to their seats as the fantasy show never failed to shock and surprise with each new episode.
After a year-long wait, fans will finally be able to find out who wins the battle for Westeros and most importantly, who dies along the way. The new season won’t be using any content from original author J.R.R Martin’s books, so nobody has any idea what’s going to happen.
Let’s take a look at what odds the bookies have on how events might unravel.
In the event that the white walkers don’t kill everyone, Oddschecker.com reveals the throne-hungry Khaleesi and Mother of Dragons Daenerys Targaryen is only in with a 7/1 chance of eventually ruling Westeros. The crippled son of Ned Stark and three-eyed raven in-the-making Bran Stark is the current favorite with 13/5 odds, and the boy who knows nothing, Jon Snow, is slightly ahead of his lover and aunt Daenerys with a 6/1 chance.
Despite having taken control of a dragon in the last episode of the previous season, the ruler of the white walkers, The Night King, is in with only a 10/1 chance of winning the war for Westeros.
In the event of a face-off between Arya Stark and sister Sansa Stark, bookies have given little sister Arya and her trusty sword ‘needle’ only a 9/4 chance of winning. Somewhat less feisty and weaker sister Sansa gets a surprising 1/3 chance, possibly due to the show’s propensity to surprise viewers with a twist.
Another battle viewers will be keen to see come to fruition is that of Daenerys Targaryen fighting Cersei Lannister to take control of capital city King’s Landing. Bookies have Cersei at a 2/9 chance of beating Daenerys, who only gets a 3/1 chance of winning.
