16/1 on Roy Keane Becoming Manager of Inter Miami

2020 is going to be a big year if you happen to live in Miami. No, Crockett and Tubbs aren’t returning in a reboot of ‘Miami Vice,’ it’s when Inter Miami will start playing in Major League Soccer (MLS). The club is owned by a group of businessmen led by David Beckham, but who will be their first manager?

American Adventure

No decision has yet been made and the next year or so is going to be full of rumours, not just on who their first manager will be, but which players will move to the USA to play for them. Beckham of course used to play for LA Galaxy in the MLS and it’s long been a dream of his to own a team in the rapidly expanding league.

Their official name is Club Internacional de Fútbol Miami but fans starting a ‘Give us a C….’ chant will prefer the shorter title of Inter Miami.  There’ll be lots of announcements in the coming year, but could it be Roy Keane who becomes their first boss?

Keane is a Free Agent

He’s just left his position as assistant manager of the Republic of Ireland national side so is a free agent.  Keane hasn’t set the world on fire in his managerial career to date with spells in charge of Ipswich Town and Sunderland.

A big plus for the Irishman is the fact that he used to play for Manchester United and was one of Beckham’s team-mates. Not surprisingly after some of his recent comments about United, he’s not been invited to become their interim manager.

When Beckham broke into the United team, it was Keane who was one of the most experienced players. Perhaps as Beckham becomes a club owner, he’ll remember that and appoint Keane as the first manager of his club. There are odds of 16/1 at BetVictor on Keane moving to the USA and taking charge of Inter Miami.
